The 11th Annual Accessory Council Excellence Awards just did not turn out the way they were intended. To begin with Jessica Simpson almost fell on her face when she arrived at the event and got her heel caught in a grate. Then it turned out that she was wearing the same Michael Kors dress as Deborah Norville.
Inside the production was reported by the New York Post to be a disaster and projected images often did not match what was being said. Vogue editor André Leon Talley had to wing his speech when he was told it never was delivered and could not be put up on the teleprompter. Afterward he fumed backstage and personally scrolled through the electronic text to prove that it had been there.
