Police are looking for a former WWD reporter who is accused of raping a W-magazine staffer in a bizarre Halloween seduction. Peter Braunstein apparently dressed up as a New York City Firemen and set a number of small fires in the hallway of the 34-year-old's Chelsea apartment building. He then allegedly knocked her out with a chloroform-soaked rag, bound her with duct tape, stripped her naked and molested her for 13 hours straight. Braunstein escaped taking a high heel shoe as a trophy. The 41 year-old suspect is described as deeply troubled and was turned in by ex-girlfriend and W beauty editor Jane Larkworthy. Braunstein is said to have a hit list of other beauties with Kate Moss is at the very top. |

London fashion House Burberry has decided to rehire Kate Moss for its advertising campaign. A company spokesman seemed to suffer a very public bout of amnesia when he stated that the supermodel was never fired by the company after pictures of her using cocaine were published in a British tabloid. In September Burberry dropped Moss like a hot potato issuing a statement that it was "inappropriate" to continue to be associated with her. Reinstating Moss may have more to do with a recent decline in Burberry's earnings than concerns over corporate integrity. |

After a year of delays Sean John finally launched SEAN BY SEAN COMBS his contemporary sportswear collection for women. Hundreds of screaming women welcomed Sean "Diddy" Combs at the Bloomingdale's launch. Karl Ruttenstein Bloomingdale's senior vice president of fashion direction wearing Sean John from head to toe discribed the line as being "for a sophisticated buyer". The collection can also be found at Saks Fifth Avenue , Bergdorf Goodman and specialty boutiques. |

The gossip world was shocked to learn that one of its own committed suicide. Former west coast bureau chief for Star Magazine Brenda You was found dead on her bedroom floor inside her L.A. apartment. The 38 year-old was a one time Hooters waitress and Playboy model. Although toxicology reports will take several weeks to complete the apparent cause of death seems to be an intentional overdose of medicaton.
