Naomi Campbell is well on her way to make good on her pledge to raise one million dollars for Hurricane Katrina relief. Last week she handed over a check for $850,000 to AmeriCares. Most of the money was raised at her star-studded Fashion for Relief runway show during last season's New York Fashion Week. Even Anna Wintour paid for her own ticket. An emotional Campbell recalled how her very first fashion shoot took place in New Orleans when she was just fifteen years old. She was flown in from Britain which was also the first time she ever visited the United States. Sean Combs, Andre Leon Talley and Fern Mallis were present at the check presentation ceremony held at the Bryant Park Hotel.

He is so inspired by the Big Apple that he has created a special street-savvy capsule collection of his soon to be released Karl Lagerfeld line as homage to the city he now calls home. The urban collection features lots of black and stiff white cotton shirts. It will be available exclusively at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. Lagerfeld will photograph the advertising campaign himself.

42 year old Rossana Salvini was awarded close to $40,000 in damages when a heel snapped on the Prada shoes she was wearing. The Italian company had initially offered to settle for $300 but it was rejected by the victim who claimed that she could not go to the gym, ski or even wear high heels. The judge agreed. Along with an apology Prada issued a statement stating “all our shoes are subject to rigorous checks before distribution. Their quality is confirmed by the thousands of people who put them on every day”.

The recent implementation of a dress code for off the court National Basketball Association players is expected to have a big impact on how young males want to dress. The new rules require players to wear business attire for league functions, including sitting on the bench and making appearances. Both Levi Strauss & Co.'s Dockers have offered to outfit all 450 NBA players with business-casual clothing right down to their socks at a cost of almost half a million dollars. Many others have contacted the league including Italian fashion house Valentino.

In August Courtney Love announced to the world she was pregnant and expecting Steve Coogan's lovechild. Few people believed her. However this week as she left an L.A. courthouse she appeared to be sporting a baby bump. The Judge allowed her to leave rehab earlier citing that he was pleased with her progress. The former Hole singer will be required to undergo regular drug and alcohol checks. She will be confined to her home and permitted to leave only under certain circumstances.

A study by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that the amount of sexual content on U.S. television has nearly doubled since 1998. This was especially true for shows aimed at teenage audiences. Eighty per cent of prime-time television content included sexual references. Vicky Rideout, a Kaiser Family Foundation vice president who oversaw the study saw a positive opportunity in the data. "Television has the power to bring issues of sexual risk and responsibility to life in a way that no sex-ed class or public health brochure really can."
