The Pride Toronto Parade is one of the largest in the world. It has come to symbolisze diversity and harmony with people from Toronto 's many different ethnic and cultural communities. Unofficial reports estimated that over one million people watch the parade as it moved down Yonge Street

At this year's Pride Toronto Parade Gays and Lesbians were celebrating the first year of legal Gay Marriages in Canada . As controversy still continues to threaten this hard earned status the Gay community was out in full force to spread the joy of their new legal rights.

The Pride Parade was held one day before a crucial Canadian Federal Election. The Liberal Party wanted to enshrine the right to Gay marriage and the Conservative Party wanted to revisit it. The Gay Community was out in full force to make some noise to get their views across.
