Bravo Network and Miramax Television are teaming up to with the produces from the hit filmmaker series “Project Greenlight” to produce a new fashion reality series. Project Runway, to be hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum, will run on Bravo in the fall. 12 up and coming fashion designers will be chosen and will be provided the resources needed to produce a competitive fashion show during New York Fashion Week. Just finishing open calls for designers in Los Angeles , Chicago , New York and Miami , competition was fierce with the fashion communities putting their best design forward.

During this 10 episode series supermodel Heidi Klum will head the panel with top designers, fashion editors, photographers and stylists, who will serve as judges and industry mentors challenged with selecting and molding a new design talent. We will start with the 12 chosen designers who will compete week to week on design challenges such as designing a red carpet outfit for a celebrity or a uniform for a corporate chain. Each week designers will be cut until 3 designers remain standing. The three finalists will then prepare their collections and harness their ideas to compete on the runway of New York Fashion Week in front of the scrutiny of the press, buyers and fashion industry insiders. On top of the publicity raised for the finalists, the winner will receive a full editorial spread in a top fashion magazine and a chance for their collection to go into production and be sold in stores.

"We loved this concept because it fits Bravo's goal of providing artistic and culturally-relevant programming to viewers," said Jeff Gaspin, President, NBC Universal Cable Entertainment. "Miramax, Heidi Klum and the producers of Project Greenlight will open the door to undiscovered talent and allow them a forum to develop their creative vision. We're thrilled to be partners in this project."
