New Concept Fashion Tradeshow

The number of fashion trade exhibitions grows every year. Some companies choose specific trade shows for the group of buyers that attend, whatever the reason, the main point is to do something that sets you apart from the pack. The Train promises to be an exciting new fashion tradeshow. Created by the Federation Francaise du Pret a Porter Feminin, The Train is a new concept tradeshow to be launched in New York city September 27 to 29, 2004.

To be held at the Terminal Stores, a former train station and warehouse taking up a full block in the center of the Chelsea fashion and art district, The Train is being created as an innovative fashion experience where business meets art with special exhibitions, performances and more. With the concept conceived in March, the FFPAPF moved quickly to organize this event. Choosing no more than 100 of today's best American, Asian, and European high profile designers to show, a panel headed by FFPAPF Chairman Jean Pierre Mocho have targeted certain designers that fit the criteria to be approached about participating in the event. With the difficult selection process still taking place they want to find the right collections for the right buyers. There will be 75% women's ready to wear, 15% women's accessories and 10% to others.

“Something was missing from the tradeshow industry, we wanted to respond to that with creative new ideas… New York was targeted as a key fashion market”, Jean Pierre Mocho.

Once the New York show is finished, plans are already in the works to organize similar tradeshows in Tokyo , Japan . With an A list party set to launch this event, we can expect to hear a lot about this event in the press.
